Where the DS1140 module stands
The DS1140 module is in development and not yet available. It is being built to bring the DS 1140 control plan into the app: control points assigned to the right people, controls registered on site with photo evidence, and the project's control scope tracked through to the documentation. Until it launches, you can document controls on site with Lite Report, which is available today.
Control type per BR18 Appendix 3, Table 1. The scope of control, including any sample size for special control of the executed structure, is set for the individual project in its control plan, per control section and execution class, in accordance with BR18 (Appendix 3, Tables 2a and 2b) and DS 1140:2019. It cannot be reduced to a fixed percentage per construction class.

Under BR18 § 523(3) a control plan must state the control type, the control level, the scope and the documentation requirements, and identify the organisations and persons carrying out the control. It must be kept current with the stage of construction.

What you can do today
Status: in development. There is no launch date or price yet. The price will be announced at launch. The DS1140 features described on this page are what the module is being built to do.
Lite Report comes with professions, control plans and control points that you adapt to the job, and its photos are stamped with date, time, GPS position and place name. A finished Lite Report can serve as photo documentation in a DS 1140 case, for example to support the B3 control report. The formal DS 1140 documentation and approval remain a separate task.
Good to know: the app needs an internet connection today to register tasks and upload photos. Offline mode is on our roadmap.
The DS 1140 documents in brief
DS 1140:2019 covers the general control (almen kontrol) of the execution of load-bearing structures. SBi-anvisning 271 names the documents the work revolves around:
- B2 control plan: which controls are carried out, how, by whom, and how they are documented.
- B3 control report: the documentation that the planned controls were actually carried out, including any deviations.
- A5 as built: documentation of the structure as it was actually built.
The structural class (KK1–KK4) and the control scope are set for the specific project. Assurement does not determine them for you.
App or advisory?
The DS1140 module is for contractors who want to create and maintain the control documentation themselves. If you would rather have an expert prepare it, check your control plan or act as independent inspector, our sister company KS Danmark is the advisory business. KS Danmark prepares B2 control plans, B3 control reports and A5 as-built documentation for contractors, and works with certified structural engineers across KK1–KK4.
In short: Assurement is the software you use yourselves; KS Danmark is the advice when you want an expert to do or check the work.
Frequently asked questions
Is the DS1140 module available now?
No. The DS1140 module is in development. Lite Report is available today and can already be used to document controls on site with photos.
When will it launch, and what will it cost?
There is no launch date yet, and the price will be announced at launch. Contact us if you are considering the module for a specific project.
Will the app tell me which control level applies to my structural class?
No. The control type, control level and scope are set for the project in its control plan, in line with BR18 and DS 1140:2019, by the people responsible for the project's structural documentation. If you are unsure, KS Danmark can help.
Can I import or copy an existing control plan?
Not today. Control plans cannot be copied between projects or imported from spreadsheets. In Lite Report you start from the built-in control plans for your profession and adapt the control points to the job.
Can the structural engineer follow the documentation?
Yes, in Lite Report today. External parties can be invited to a project with Read, Communicate or Register permissions, so a certified structural engineer can be given read access to follow the documentation.
